This privacy policy is intended to inform users of this website about the type, scope and purpose of personal data collection and use by the website operator Glassresq GmbH.

The website operator takes data protection very seriously and treats your personal data confidentially and in accordance with legal requirements. Since changes may be made to this privacy policy as a result of new technology or ongoing development of this website, we recommend that you reread this privacy policy regularly.

You can find definitions of the terms used (e.g. “personal data” or “processing”) in Article 4 GDPR.

Access data

We, the website operator or website provider, collect data about accesses of this website for the purposes of our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and save this data in log files on our website server. The following data is logged:

  • Website visited
  • Time the page was accessed
  • Volume of data sent in bytes
  • Origin of the access – source/referrer
  • Browser used
  • Operating system used
  • Your IP address

The server log files are stored for no more than 7 days and then deleted. The data is stored for security reasons, for example to provide clarification in cases of abuse. If data must be kept for the purposes of evidence, this data is excluded from deletion until the case has been clarified.

Reach measurement & cookies

This website uses cookies for the purposes of pseudonymised reach measurement. The cookies are transmitted from either our server or a third-party server to the user’s browser. Cookies are small pieces of data stored by your web browser and accessed by your browser. We use cookies to improve the user-friendliness and security of this website.

If you do not want reach measurement cookies to be stored on your device, you can opt out of cookies through the following links:

All common browsers can be configured to disable cookies. Note, however, that we cannot guarantee that all functions on our website will work correctly if you disable cookies.

Recording and processing personal data

The website operator only collects, uses and discloses your personal data if this is permitted by law or you have consented to the data collection.

Personal data means any data that can be used to identify you as a natural person or which can be traced back to you – for example, your name, your email address or your telephone number.

You can visit this website without providing personal information. However, for the purposes of improving our online services, we store (not personally identifiable) data about your access to this website. This data includes e.g. files you request and the name of your internet service provider. The data is anonymised so that no conclusions can be drawn about you personally.

Examples:

  • What? – We process personal data such as your first name, surname, IP address, email address, town, postcode and inputs from the contact form.
  • How? – We only process personal data if we have explicit permission from the relevant user and in accordance with the applicable data protection regulations.
  • Why? – We process personal data for the purposes of our legitimate interests in order to carry out our contractually agreed services and optimise our services.

Handling contact data

If you contact us as the website operator using one of the contact options provided, your data will be stored for the purposes of processing and responding to your enquiry. This data will not be passed on to third parties without your consent.

Comments and posts

If you leave a comment or post on this website, your IP address will be saved. This is done for the purposes of our legitimate interests in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, for our security as the website operator. If your comment violates applicable law, we can be prosecuted. We therefore have a legitimate interest in the identity of the author of the comment or post.

Google Analytics

For the purposes of our legitimate interests in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, in order to optimise and analyse our online services, we make use of the “Google Analytics” service provided by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA). This service (Google Analytics) uses cookies; that is, small pieces of data stored on your computer. The information collected in the cookies is typically sent to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

Google LLC complies with European data protection law and is certified under the Privacy Shield framework: https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt000000001L5AAI&status=Active

IP anonymisation is used on this website. The user’s IP address is truncated within EU member states and the European Economic Area and other signatory states of the agreement. In a few individual cases, the untruncated IP address may be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. Truncating the IP address ensures that it cannot be traced back to you. The user’s IP address as communicated by the browser is not combined with other data saved by Google.

As part of the agreement for data processing that we, as the website operator, have concluded with Google Inc., Google uses the information collected to analyse the website use and activity, and to provide services associated with the use of our website.

The data collected by Google on our behalf is used to analyse how individual users make use of our online services, e.g. by compiling reports about activity on our website. We use these analyses to improve our online services.

You can disable cookies on your device through the appropriate browser settings. We cannot guarantee that all functions on our website will work correctly if you disable cookies in your browser.

You can also use a browser add-on to prevent the information stored in the cookies (including your IP address) from being sent to Google Inc. and used by Google Inc. You can find the add-on here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en.

You can also opt out of allowing Google Analytics to record data about you from this website by clicking here: (WICHTIG: Opt-Out-Link einfügen). Clicking on the link will download an “opt-out cookie”. Your browser must allow cookies for this to work. If you delete your cookies regularly, you will need to click on the link each time you visit this website.

Use of Facebook social media plugins

For the purposes of our legitimate interests in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, we use the Facebook social media plugin on this website to help analyse, optimise and operate our online services. The plugin is operated by Facebook Inc. (1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, California 94025, USA). You can identify links to Facebook from the Facebook logo or the words “Like”, “Share” in the Facebook colours (blue and white). You can find more information about all the Facebook plugins here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/

Facebook Inc. complies with European data protection law and is certified under the Privacy Shield framework: https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt0000000GnywAAC&status=Active

The plugin creates a direct connection between your browser and the Facebook servers. The website operator has no influence over the nature and extent of the data transmitted to the Facebook Inc. servers by the plugin. You can find more information here: https://www.facebook.com/help/186325668085084

The plugin informs Facebook Inc. that you have visited this website. It is possible that your IP address will be stored. If you are logged into your Facebook account when you visit our website, the above information will be linked to your Facebook account.

If you use any of the functions from the plugin (e.g. you “Like” or share a post), this information will also be transmitted to Facebook Inc.

If you do not want Facebook Inc. to link this data to your Facebook account, you must log out of Facebook before visiting this website, and delete saved cookies. You can configure your Facebook preferences or disable data processing for advertising purposes through your Facebook profile. You can find the settings here:

If you believe that your data has been processed unlawfully, you can submit a complaint to the responsible supervisory authority.

Data erasure

If your request does not conflict with a legal requirement to store data (e.g. data retention), you have the right to request that your data is erased. Data stored by us will be deleted, providing it is no longer needed for its intended purpose and there is no legal retention period. If it is not possible to delete the data as the data is required for authorised legal purposes, the data processing will be restricted. The data will be locked and not processed for other purposes.
